John Jacob Young CSA 1812-1891

Beth visits the gravesite of her Great Grandparents, buried on the family farm 2 miles east of Smithville, Georgia.  Her Great Grandfather John Jacob Young served in the Confederate Army.

The graveyard was overgrown. Beth's husband Craig Hullinger beat back the vegetation. Confederate Private Young objected to a Damn Yankee Colonel over his grave site, and dispatched fire teams of numerous fire ants who drove off Hullinger with severe injuries.

Mary, It was so wonderful to meet all of you. Christy and I had a great time and a lot of fun. I am very much interested in meeting with everyone again and hopefully I can make the Easter get together. I felt very welcome and a closeness to you.

I appreciate you getting the pictures and albums together for me. When you get a copy made of all of us would you e-mail or send it to me and also identify everyone and where they live. I am a little confused still. It all still seems a little unreal!! Looking forward to seeing you again.

Love, Serena
