Dear Beth (or shall I say Aunt Beth),

I was so excited to hear the news yesterday from my mom.  I thought she was crazy when she emailed me the subject "my sister" because she didn't have a sister.  Boy was I in for a shock!!  I am looking forward to meeting you soon.  Mom said you were coming to Atlanta in October and I would love to meet with you then.  I heard that you went to a great school for your Master's Degree!!!  I have yet to leave Athens after attending school here.  I hope you have fond memories of the town as well.

It has been so interesting to look at your pictures on your blog.  I hope to be as well traveled as you one day.

I wanted to take a minute to tell you about your sister, my mom.  She is a wonderful, slightly scatter-brained woman with a heart of gold.  She never meets a stranger wherever she goes.  She is friendly and outgoing.   She treats friends like family and is loyal to them and there for them in times of need.  She was and is a wonderful mom to me and my brother.  She guided us as we grew up and taught us how to make decisions wisely.

She prepared us for life (even if we didn't always listen).  She stores value in relationships with people and not in possessions.  Having said that, she doesn't hesitate from buying good quality items.

Just some general things that she might not think to tell you...she likes her food unbearably hot (temperature), enjoys spaghetti at my house because Casey doesn't like it at home, loves a good margarita and likes a bad one, too.  She doesn't like to cook, although she will.  In the process she will make every dish in the kitchen dirty, but she will gladly clean up your kitchen if you cook dinner.

She is a fantastic grandmother.  (She goes by Rennie to my daughter, Olivia.)  She loves to read mystery/spy/investigation type books and watch sports on TV.  She enjoys coming with me to Ga football games and likes basketball, too.  She has made an art of relaxing.  She has a beautiful yard and a passion for day lillies.  I love her very much and hope you will, too!

I am attaching a couple of pictures that I could easily get to.  They are of Mom (Serena), me (Christy), and my daughter (Olivia).  These were taken last June.  They were my belated Mother's day gift to Mom.  There were supposed to be some pictures of just Mom and Olivia, but the little one wasn't cooperating.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family.  Life is a great adventure and what an interesting turn this has taken!  Please send my regards to your daughter, Leigh Ann, your husband, Craig, and son.

Fondly,

Christy Tucker

It is fascinating to compare the two sisters, who never knew each other.  Like Serena, Beth is a wonderful woman, also with a heart of gold. Beth also never meets a stranger wherever she goes, and is friendly and outgoing.

She also treats friends like family and is loyal to them and there for them in times of need.  She was and is a wonderful mom to Leigh Ann and Bret.

Beth likes her food unbearably hot (spicy, not temperature), and also loves a good margarita and likes a bad one, too.  She also doesn't like to cook, although she has on occasion.  She also makes every dish in the kitchen dirty. Beth also loves to read mystery/spy/investigation type books and romances and watch sports on TV (She loves the Georgia Dawgs, also the Florida Gators, the Atlanta Falcoms, and Chicago Bears).  She enjoyed going to Georgia football games when she lived in Georgia. She liked basketball when the Chicago Bulls were winning.

Beth loves flowers and yard work, but has seldom had time to do much of it.  We also love her the most.
